Your wedding budget guide

You can’t say yes to everything, well most people, so narrowing down on these top five things will guide you further into planning your wedding.

VENUE & CATERING

Let’s start with the heavy weights, Venue & Catering will take pole position in our list- with couples reporting these two take up 50% of the budget.

These two go hand in hand with each other so they’re in one category.

So if you are planning on hosting a wedding reception, you will need space to celebrate, and in order to celebrate you will need to cater.

Venues which provide catering are the perfect fit, like PRINCE ALBERT. Alternatively, venues the permit external caterers are available too.

The food can be as unique as you, so check out the sample menus and booking a tasting in. Whatever the preference, ensuring your guests are well sated in integral to having a happy event- which people will talk about for a long time afterwards.

PHOTOGRAPHER

We’ve heard it before, “the nights flown by so quickly. I hardly ate and I barely spoke to everyone”

Having a photo album to look back through and relive your special day will help you remember and keep everything so fresh.

(Even better a videographer)

Don’t disallow the candid shots friends take on their personal devices - that adds to the story! So get them printed too! Often a hashtag is used for posting on Instagram or for those more private. Set up a Dropbox for everyone to send their photos to, or simply email when you get the chance.

A word of advice, find a photographer you love as their style can be as unique as you.

OUTFITS

Now the fun part – what to wear? Wedding dresses, tuxedos and suits, or even a bridal suit. There is something for everyone, so many trends and styles are but a click with online shopping at your fingertips - making budget friendly options easily accessible. Don’t forget the details; accessories, shoes, ties and the sparkles.  Not to mention the rings.

FLOWERS (OR NOT TO FLOWERS)

A very popular wedding must have. From centre-pieces to bouquets and pin hole arrangements for the suits. There are plenty of florists to choose from or alternatively some couples prefer to wander down to the local flower market and curate their own. Not only allowing a personal touch but also more budget friendly. There is no forever rule that states the details have to be flowers, centre-pieces and decorations can be made of anything – either way you will need the funds for this.

ENTERTAINMENT

Everyone expects some music at some point during the wedding, whether it’s a playlist hand curated by the couple, a singer song writer singing the bride down the aisle, a raucous band to get the party started or even a DJ to carry the crowd into the early hours. Music is important but it doesn’t have to stop there. There are so many talented individuals in the world, from acrobats, magicians, circus and cabaret artists and drag……..you can even have a game of bingo to break the ice.
